01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

One diner who came for yakitori ordered a set of 6 skewers: chicken, skin, tsukune, chicken tail, heart and tongue. They recalled that the liver was sold out and replaced with heart, but the seasoning was just right and the meat released its juices with each bite. Jump also recommends its charcoal-grilled assortment of domestic chicken skewers, served with a fragrant char. The menu lists it at 550 yen. The types and number of skewers may differ from those in that diner’s order, but it makes a fitting start to an evening of drinks around the grill.

Another dish to look out for is the simmered offal, listed at 450 yen. The menu describes it as fresh offal cooked until tender and recommends it as a match for drinks. One diner commented that they remembered its pleasantly chewy texture. Smaller plates are easy to order alongside it, including ham cutlet for 200 yen, Japanese rolled omelette for 300 yen and chilled tofu for 200 yen. One diner praised the omelette, too; it’s an appealing extra to share with the yakitori or simmered offal.

There are set meals on the menu as well, including meat and garlic chives and fried chicken, each priced at 850 yen—an option for a more substantial meal than a succession of small plates. Fried chicken is also available on its own for 500 yen; the menu describes it as well seasoned. The wood-grain interior has menus covering a wall, and the seating includes a counter and sunken kotatsu-style tables. The restaurant is also presented as suitable for dining alone, whether you settle in at the counter for yakitori and a drink or opt for a set meal.
